This splendid course sits isolated on a peninsula surrounded by gigantic dunes. The location is charming. It is difficult to believe that the course only opened for play in 1993. Many of the greens and tees were sited naturally and the course development required very little earth moving. The course itself snakes through the dunes in all directions in a layout that you cannot help but enjoy. A trip to Ireland's west coast would not be complete without playing Carne.
