Triona Design

Triona Design is situated in Ardara, the home of Donegal tweed, in a building which was constructed in 1908 and since then has housed generations of weavers. The visitor can enjoy weaving demonstrations and learn something of the art of preparing and making Donegal tweed using traditional skills. At Triona Design visitors can learn about the traditional art of weaving as well as browsing around the displays of beautifully finished clothing, unusual crafts, paintings and jewellery. Triona Design is housed in a building formerly known as The Mart which was the original home of handspun and handwoven Donegal tweed. There's everything from capes, coats, and skirts to jackets and scarves, in a range of fabrics that includes lambswool, woollen-silk mixture and traditional Donegal tweed.
